Product and operations
Silkline services
SLICKLINE OPERATIONS
- CLEANING OF THE WELLBORE
- BAILING SAND AND DEBRIS
Removing formation sand/rock and other such debris left over from the drilling and completion of the well, using a specialized tool called a bailer.
- PARAFFIN CUTTING
Making a hole through and removing a wax buildup, which is a byproduct of oil cooling too much to reach surface
- BROACH TUBING
A tubing broach looks like an aggressive, tubular file, available in different diameters, used for removing burrs and crimps in the inside of tubing and casing in oil and gas wells
- CHIPPING ICE/SALT
Restrictions and plugs which can be formed as byproducts of a flowing well.
- BOTTOM HOLE SAMPLING
- FISHING OPERATIONS
Fishing usually refers to attempting to retrieve lost tools or wire, or other debris that was not intended to restrict the flow / disrupt the well operations.
Running Lead Impression block and magnet’s of various size
- GAUGE RING RUNS (Drifting the tubing)
Running a special sized downhole tool called a gauge ring, which comes in various pre-machined diameters, designed to ensure the pipe is clear to a certain point
- MECHANICAL PERFORATOR
Opening circulation holes in 2 3/8“ and 2 7/8“ tubing in wells where it is not posibile to open SSD.
- SETTING & PULLING GAS LIFT VALVES
Running and pulling gas lift valves from mandrels
- SETTING & PULLING PLUGS & CHOKES
Specialized downhole tools (Lock Mandrels) which lock into pre-machined restrictions in the tubing, sealing pressure from below or/and above the plug
- SHIFTING SLEEVES
Formations downhole can be isolated behind sliding metal ‘windows’ called sliding sleeves. They are shifted open or closed by means of a specialized shifting tool locating the sleeve and it being jarred up or down, providing access or closing off that formation or section of casing
- TAGGING T.D.
Total Depth, which is the furthest depth possible down the wellbore
- IDENTIFY TOP OF TUBING
Running tubing end locator to determine top of the tubing string
10.RUNNING MEMORY TOOLS
Running memory gauges on slickline or installing them on lock mandrels in landing nipple
11.SWABBING
Swabbing is a process to remove fluids off the production zone from a gas or oil well. Fluids are recovered by swabbing to “kick” the well off. As fluids are lifted, the bottom hole pressure pushes the gas and/or oil up and out the well.
