Well Logging and perforating services

Geophysical well logging is effectively applied in oil, gas and water wells, and it is important in providing data for further operations during the development of a new well or the overhaul of an old one.

The geophysical well logging system continuously measures, processes and interprets the geophysical properties of drilled formations: its spontaneous potential, conductivity, specific electrical resistance, dielectric conductivity, total natural radioactivity, spectrum of natural gamma radioactivity, density, hydrogen index i.e. neutron porosity, rate of propagation and attenuation of longitudinal and transverse waves, etc

The following data are provided for drilling, completion and workover operatioons in well: inclination and deviation of the well, diameter and volume of the well, pressure and temperature in the well, physical properties of the mud, testing and perforation in the well, determining the quality of the cement lining, places of damage to the casing, and the performance of perforation works, locating zones prone to sand production, assessing the performance of fracturing, the quality of gravel sand pack filter, determining the density, quantity and flow of fluid, etc.

Units are equipped to work in all climatic conditions. Logging operations are possible for downhole temperatures up to 175°C (350°F) and pressures up to 140MPa (20,000 PSI).

  Open hole logging service:

The Well Logging Department has three apparatuses for logging in open holes (DW-2, WA-2,WA-3)

1. DW-2: VOLVO – NOV ELMAR DYNAWINCH 6×4. The apparatus have one drum for working with 15/32″cable with 7000m capacity. The apparatus is equipped with Benchmark AM5K measuring system.
2. WA-2: International – Western Atas 6×4. The apparatus have one drum for working with 15/32″cable with 7000m capacity. The apparatus is equipped with Benchmark AM5K measuring system.
3. WA-3: International – Western Atas 6×4. The apparatus have one drum for working with 15/32″cable with 7000m capacity. The apparatus is equipped with Benchmark AM5K measuring system.

Surface data acquisition system for open hole is „Antares ALADIN” and aquisition and processing software package, for real time measurement in open hole, is „GeoBase“ manufactured by Antares.

The basis of the “GeoBase” software package is the database. This software works Windows OS, 64 bit OS, and it supports ASCII, DLIS, LAS files. The standard configuration allows the display of parameters in real time by depth shifted by lag time. Parameter display can be alphanumeric, graphic, and combined.

Cased hole /Production logging and Perofration services:

The Well Logging Department has six apparatures for measurements in cased holes and perforation works in combination (DW-1, НОВТЕК,  WA-4, Pengo1, Pengo2, GO).

1. DW-1: VOLVO – DYNAWINCH 6×4. The apparatus has one “split” drum for working with 7/32″ and 5/16″ cable with 7000m capacity each. The apparatus is equipped with Benchmark AM5K measuring system.

2. НОВТЕК: MAN / NOVTEK PKS-5 6×4. The apparatus has one “split” drum for working with 7/32″ and 5/16″ cable with 6500m capacity each. The apparatus is equipped with „НОВТЕК“ measuring system.

3. WA-4: International – Western Atas 6×6. The apparatus has one “split” drum for working with 7/32″ and 5/16″ cable with 7000m capacity each. The apparatus is equipped with Benchmark AM5K measuring system.
4. Pengo1: INTERNATIONAL – PENGO IHC PAYSTAR 4×4. The apparatus has one drum for working with a 7/32″cable with 7000m capacity. The apparatus is equipped with Benchmark AM3K measuring system.
5. Pengo2: INTERNATIONAL – PENGO IHC PAYSTAR 4×4. The apparatus has one drum for working with a 7/32″cable with 7000m capacity. The apparatus is equipped with Benchmark AM3K measuring system.

6. GO: INTERNATIONAL – GEARHART-OWEN 6×6. The apparatus has two drums for working with 7/32″ and 5/16″ cables with 7000m capacity each. The apparatus is equipped with Benchmark AM3K measuring system.

Surface data acquisition systems for cased hole and production logging operations is „Warrior“ manufactured by  SDS-Scientific Data Sysems, USA.

The “Warrior” data acquisition and processing software package, (32/64 bit, works in Windows OS), is intended for real time measurement in the well. Supports ASCII, LIS, LAS files. The standard configuration allows the display of parameters in real time by depth shifted by lag time. The measured and calculated parameters are stored in the database. Parameter display can be alphanumeric, graphic, and combined.

Water wells services:

The Well Logging Department has one apparature for measuring the water wells (GV). The apparatus has one drum for working with cable 800m capacity. The apparatus is equipped with Geovista measuring system.
